Friends and Farms

Spent a few days with friends at my friend's family's farm (near Reitz) in December. It was very, very lovely.

This is meant to be my work table. The point of organised chaos has been passed. It is officially just chaos. I think it is time to clean up!

Perseverance Is Key

Although they underwent some design changes along the way (note: flexibility is key too) I am very pleased with how these earrings have turned out. I do so hope that Suzanne will be pleased too and that she will enjoy wearing them for many years and occasions to come.

Take Three...

I had done a test piece using this fabric in resin and it turned out fine, but when I used them for the earrings, many bubbles appeared. I think it might have been a glue I used to secure a the cardboard backing the the underlying layer of resin (which I did not use in my original test piece) but what ever it was, it's no good, the bubbles must go!

Once I have managed to remove all this gunk, I will attempt to fill these earrings with resin for the third time! (Every time that I have tried so far, something new and different has gone wrong.) I really do hope this next time I'll be a winner and that I will be able to to upload some successful resin pictures soon! :)

Mr Balloon Man

How balloon art has evolved since my days of single coloured sausage dogs and swords.

My mom thinks I should stop wasting my time and money (R20) on frivolous things intended for young children, but I really thought Tigger was very cool-so did many of the other people that I encountered between Mr balloon man and my car :)

A Pleasant Stroll

Took a walk from Constantia Neck to Kirstenbosch this morning.
It was very lovely.

I found these little creatures all sharing a plant.

If I were to guess I would say she was wishing for a flight out of here, but so far, no luck! My poor brother and sister-in-law have spent three consecutive evenings, hanging round the airport trying to get a flight home.
